Situated in the heart of Pinellas County along the Gulf Coast of West Central Florida, the City of Largo is an integral part of the Tampa Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), ranking as the 18th largest in the United States.

Largo, positioned just a short distance north of St. Petersburg (the one in Florida, not Russia!), holds the distinction of being the fourth largest city in the Tampa Bay area, nestled within the confines of Florida’s Pinellas County. It is characterized as a middle-class city, primarily residential, and boasts one of the highest population densities in the region. Originally an agricultural community in the late 1800s, Largo achieved incorporation in 1905, maintaining a relatively small and provincial identity for a considerable period. The town’s transformation into a bedroom community for nearby cities began in the 1960s, and by 2010, Largo’s population had grown to 70,000. Geographically, Largo is close to Clearwater, Pinellas Park, and Seminole.

Presently, Largo has emerged as the fourth largest city in the Tampa Bay area, attributed to its residents’ high quality of life, an affordable cost of living, and its strategic location near a diverse array of businesses.
